Hi everyone, I am looking to learn more about the US medical device landscape. I am looking to learn where most medium-sized medical device companies are located, what major medical device magazines and websites I should know about and how you recruit BD contractors in the medical field in the US. Do you have any tips or advice? Many thanks in advance. source: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/78665/78665-6057910011995181059 Marked as spam

San Diego, Boston and Minneapolis are the top three and each have great talent, infrastructure and VC funding. Also pay attention to many up and coming regions- I can't speak for all small/mid- size regions but Texas is growing very fast because it has top tier hospitals, lots of oil/gas money, high tech, and costs of operation are dramatically less than east or west coast. Check out the MD&M conference series for medical device community activities. Also, check out the mHealth conference. Marked as spam

Med device industry is a broad term . I would be capable of informing you on what I know as an industry expert in life sciences, diagnostics and orthopedics. As William B stated certain regional areas have multiple generations of skilled workforce folks who have very specific talents in their area of expertise. South Florida has traning hospitals and a seasonal elderly population that increase 800 to 1000 per day. It is a hotbed for aging population device development. As in all new tech and development areas one needs to look at the demographics of patients, insurance reimbursement blah blah. To understand the larger landscape and how firms stay profitable. Let me know your area of interest my career has been in new PD taking a napkin sketch to released products under fda , ccc, ect. I can say that boston, minneapolis, san jose ect are great locations. Thanks for the responses Mike and William. As for the following industries: rehabilitation equipment and laboratory equipment, which associations would be best to get in contact with? And which regions and trade fairs are most interesting to investigate? Many thanks in advance.
