This is a gift. A must-watch video from Dr. Daniel Kraft, the keynote speaker from this year’s 10x Medical Device Conference. http://medgroup.biz/Reimagining-Health-Daniel-Kraft In it, Daniel gives a fascinating account of the exponential changes we’re experiencing in healthcare delivery. He touches upon human genome sequencing, digital health, innovations in neuroscience, Alzheimer’s diagnoses, cardiology, wearables, insideables, mobile apps, and much more. It’s an enjoyable fast-paced presentation you’ll want to watch to catch up on where the industry is going. For discussion today, a topic Daniel addresses at the top of his talk: How do we practice healthcare today? Daniel offers: “In fact, we don’t practice healthcare, we practice sick care. We’re incentivized as clinicians and healthcare systems and device manufacturers to treat the chronically ill or acutely ill on the right side of the equation. That’s why in many parts of the country we even spent 50% of our cost on 5% of the population, and that’s because we practice incentive-based medicine not necessarily reimbursement-based medicine as opposed to evidence-based medicine.” His point is technology and devices can play a big role the necessary shift in healthcare. Seriously, invest the time in this video (with transcript): http://medgroup.biz/Reimagining-Health-Daniel-Kraft ++++++++++ DANIEL’S EXPONENTIAL MEDICINE CONFERENCE I first met Daniel last year at his Exponential Medicine conference in San Diego. It was the single best healthcare event I have ever attended. I want you to join me this year. (You actually have to apply for a spot, so do it today.) It’s at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, November 9-12. See http://medgroup.biz/exponential and use code XMEDMDG to save $550 on your registration.
