Hello everyone, With the changing face of education in many sectors to online education courses I wonder how many people or companies are changing or are thinking of changing to this form of education. In 2015 online education was a 105 billion dollar market which is predicted to grow to 244 billion dollars by 2022. What are the advantages of online education? – You determine when and where to study the courses. No travelling to training centres or paying for trainers to come to you. But are the courses which you require available? Yes, there are many providers of this type of education, certainly for regulatory affairs and ISO standards. However, when it comes to education for those medical device manufacturers using ERP systems I do not see ERP courses readily available. They are provided by either external or internal generic courses in most cases. This where I would like to ask for your help. I would like to see what the demand for this type of course would be in the medical industry for manufacturers using Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS) R12, in particular, but not limited to, quality results data collection using the Quality module. Could I please ask you to answer three simple questions, yes or no. Obviously any other comments you may care to offer would be welcome. 1. Does your company use Oracle EBS R12? 2. If yes, do they use the Quality module or would they consider using it? 3. If an online education for “Quality Data Collection using Oracle EBS R12 Specifcally for the Medical Devices Industry” was available, would you be interested in taking the course? Thanks in advance for your assistance in this short survey. Marked as spam

for every company there's just too much leeway for customisation from the modules. another situation is that it is the workflow within the company that is the toughest to learn, not the software application. That complex workflow which may include paper, excel, verbal communication, other applications etc. makes tons of jobs in the industry. lastly, go to any company that is in the midst of integrating their M&A activity and you'll see what i mean in greater visibility and detail. hope it helps.

Hi Ee Bin Liew, Thank you for these valid comments. I agree that the workflow in many companies is extremely complicated, perhaps more complicated than it needs to be from what I have seen. Business Process Management is just one of the activities that I offer. Yes I have worked with companies integrating their M&A activity very recently. Thanks.

This is new to me; what sorts of courses related to medical devices are companies already offering?

Well, I'm part of a team developing a customised digital and blended learning solution for another field - extremely specific, and in many ways client tailored, particularly in the presence part of the blended learning experience.
I find that the hardest is to actually get highly-qualified trainers to work with the instructional designers for developing the training programs. If there's anyone around with experience in these fields, I'd like to get in touch. Marked as spam

Hi Martin, Thanks for your question.
Currently there are many online courses available relating to medical devices, regulatory affairs, ISO standards etc. which can be easily found on the internet. The courses which I refer to here are specifically related to the ERP system, Oracle eBusiness Suite. These courses, which are classroom based and are generally very generic covering all of the functionality of a particular module but taking no account of business processes or whether the user uses all of the functionality, are available from consulting companies and indeed Oracle University. Examples would be Work in process, Quality, Inventory etc. I have not seen external companies offering these courses in a virtual format for a manufacturing environment nor in a business specific format where a course can be built by just selecting the lessons that you require. Hope this answers your question. Marked as spam

There are many sales and marketing courses available on the internet. Just type International Sales Online Courses in Google and you will find many providers. For those interested, two of the major market places for online courses are Lynda(dot)com, owned by Linkedin, and Udemy.
