Here’s a recap of some things you may have missed over the past few months. First, Rhonda Rhyne’s keynote speech from this year’s 10x conference. You can watch it at http://medgroup.biz/Rhyne-keynote After an interesting presentation about the power of big data and artificial intelligence, Rhonda shared three personal insights: • Don’t hear rejection. In 1999, she had a chance to partner with GE. They called and cancelled the meeting but “she didn’t get the message” and showed up anyway. They became partners once they heard her story. • It’s who you know. Coverage from (fellow 10x speaker) Jeffrey Kraws mattered. Angel investor Alan Paulson’s network mattered. It’s never too early to build your network. Powerful friends can get you the exposure and resources you need to win. And you can get to know them at intimate conferences like 10x. • Partnerships aren’t always advertised. This reinforces her second point. When companies begin strategic initiatives, the sales/marketing and acquisition opportunities happen. If you’re well-positioned at the right, connected company, it can happen for you. What do you think of Rhonda’s advice? R Burrell (Bo) Clawson It takes the likes of local entrepreneurial & Angel groups and the Med Dev group here online to find an experienced person. When competing with other products, I’ld recommend looking at a summary site like www.MobiHealthNews.com to see what competitors and related products are doing and have done.
