UDI label creation software
< 1 min reading time

I am using Avery labels on a A4 sheet and a desktop laser printer. Can anyone suggest me software to create labels with a bar code type GS1-128 Datamatrix? I found the software “Nice label pro” that would suit me, is there any other on the market? Thanks for the help

Ken Ludzack Patrick,

Nicelabel Pro is a good product. In my experience If you are looking for other similar one off label design products Bartender by Seagull Scientific and Labelview and Codesoft by Teklynx would also be good choices.

If you are looking for a more complete solution to manage your UDI effort ongoing and especially if you are selling internationally you may want to consider Kodit, UDI. Kodit UDI includes a label design software called Paperflex as part of its overall UDI solution. It also gives you the ability to gather, QC and, submit device data to GUDID in the US, NHS in UK, and other coming dataset standards in EU and beyond. In addition Kodit is a PEPPOL and Datapool provider so you can meet those requirements (beginning in 2017) in the UK and Europe all within the one solution instead of having to engage multiple partners. I would be happy to discuss Kodit with you in more detail.

Aaron Liang If you are using the Zebra printers for printing your labels, Zebra provides free label generating software that also includes GS1-128 formats as well. You can use it to generate the barcode images and then copy them into your Avery label templates to print on a desktop printer. I suspect that would be the case if you used other software as well since you aren't using a specialty label printer.
