CFDA announced last week new fees for registrations, with higher fees for importers of high risk Class III devices than charged to locals. This was justified on the grounds of higher costs for international inspections. Thoughts people: * Discriminatory charging – or a harbinger of a new inspection program? * What will a CFDA inspection look like? Maybe that could underline the need to stay away from "Made in China"?

Last year there were $1.6 Trillion lost to counterfeit, 80% of it from China. This year, the figure will rise to $1.78 Trillion and 80% of it still from China! Personally, if I see "Made in China" on any product, I do not buy it. Also, I WOULD DEFINITELY research where medicines and medical devices were made if I needed any and NEVER buy any or take ANYTHING "Made in China".

Stella - this is about taking devices IN to China - not devices made in China. As for not buying anything made in China - that's both a challenge and unnecessary. For example - do you use an iphone - or an android phone? Chances are the whole device or at least most of the components are made in China.

I wonder if China does elect to send teams out for inspection if that will end up securing IP for domestic producers
